the stock dvi cable for my monitor was too short. looked around for a replacement, but after considering costs for a 10 footer, figured that just using this as an extension would do just as well -- and it has. actually, i've not got 12ft. to play w/ instead of getting another 10 ft. m/m cable. i also think white ends can actually be useful in that

I use this extension cable, as well as a USB extension cable, so I can drape the connectors onto the top of my desk. This makes switching my usb hub (with kb, mouse, ipod) and monitor between my desktop and MacBook very quick and foolproof with a minimum of cabling. Works exactly as I expected.

This cable performed exactly as I had hoped. It is well-made and perfect for connecting the video output of a PC to a flat-screen TV. I used the cable to connect my PCs digital graphics output to my 52" Sharp Aquos flat screen TV and got beautiful results. [Just be careful that your PC and TV are plug compatible.]

I use this cable as a interface between my iMac video adapter and my dvi monitor so I can easily unplug the monitor to plug the iMac into a vga cable connected to my TV. I used to have to wrestle with the cables behind the iMac which was hard on me and the iMac.
