The extender is able to send a 1680x1050 resolution perfectly without any reduction in quality. The product works as advertised. I'm running it on an older EDTV at 480p and 800x600 resolutions. Some odd resolutions such as 848x468 (a resolution my Nvidia card tried to use) did cause some glitches to appear on the screen. It seems that you need to stick with normal HDTV resolutions. It doesn't work. Period. Apparently, Apple's software recognizes when you plug the Apple adapter and adds an option to the display preferences pane to switch the video display to interlaced.
